The Best Month

Hey hey everyone!!

IT'S DECEMBER!! How is time flying by so quickly?! I'm just hoping the winter flies by as fast as
the summer did hahah. I'm not a huge fan of wearing three layers of tights.

This week I went on exchanges up in Chilliwack and while we were knocking this woman opened her door and goes "Ohhhhh my goodness it's so cold, come inside!!" And we were like heck yeah we got inside... then two seconds later she found out who we were and kicked us out into the cold again hahaha.

I sent the picture last week, but while me and Sister Ko were finding at Surrey Central we ran into Santa! He gave us some stuffed animals hahah it was the best. I'll send the pictures again

If you haven't seen The Christ Child video, GO WATCH IT!! Or even better, invite the missionaries into your home to do a Family Home Evening with it! With LightTheWorld going on, remember that we are the new star in the sky that leads others to Christ by our light. Remember the reason for Christmas!

I love you all!

Hey everyone!!

Sorry I haven't written one of these in a while but I dont have time to write today so here's some pictures.

On the Road Again

Hey everyone!!

Once again I have been transferred. Me and Sister Tanner were so surprised (and sad) because we only got to spend 6 weeks together. But I am in Fraser Valley YSA now with Sister Ko and it is already a blast!! Sister Ko is SO cute. She's from Hong Kong and has been out for 14 months. I already adore her!

The past week has been crazy! Tuesday night we got the call that I was being transferred early at MLC that Friday. Wednesday morning we had Zone Conference. We got to see the new Christmas video the church made called The Christ Child. It is AMAZING!! I cannot wait until they release it so I can watch it every single day. I just cried the whole time I watched it. My favorite was Mary and seeing how her emotions changed throughout the video! You can see the perfect love she has for her child, and you can imagine how hard it would be for her knowing that her son, Jesus Christ, would suffer and die for all of us.

Thursday we just had to switch a bunch of cars around for the upcoming transfer and then we went to Richmond and I went with the Chinese speaking sisters in a trio. It was really cool because we went to a dinner/lesson and I couldn't understand anything they were saying, but I could tell immediately when the conversation switched and they started talking about the gospel because the Spirit in the room immediately changed and was so strong!

Friday was my first Mission Leadership Council. It was super awesome! I loved getting to share my thoughts and hear everyone else's ideas as we counselled about the mission. Then after MLC I got my new companion and we came here to Langley! Being in the YSA branch is so much fun! I hope I never have to be transferred again, but we'll see what Heavenly Father has planned haha.

I love you all! I hope you all have a fantastic week!!

Sorry I don't have lots of pictures this week!

JOY☀️

Hey everyone!

So sorry I don't have a lot of time to write! This week was amazing!! Hossein and Leila were baptized! Their faith amazes me. They are literally risking their lives to follow Christ (which is why we can't post pictures of it).

Arti is continuing to prepare for baptism. She has the strongest faith of anyone I've ever met! She is extremely stressed, but she always tells us that she knows that God is aware of her perfectly and will answer her prayers in His perfect timing.

Being a missionary has brought me so much joy! We can find happiness from a lot of things, but there is only one thing that I can think of that has brought me deep, lasting joy- the gospel of Jesus Christ.

I love you all!

Moroni 7:35&37

Hey everyone!

Yesterday I got the best news ever... Hossein and Leila are being baptized on Saturday!! I am so excited! And I'll be able to go back and visit my favorite area and see two of my past companions. It's gonna be another great week.

Things in Surrey have been going really good. Our friend, Arthi, is really excited to be baptized. We let her pick a day and she picked November 23rd- the soonest date possible for her. Arthi is the cutest Fijian woman! She is a single mom of two little boys and has so much faith. She has been going through some really tough times the past few months. For a while she had been really hesitant to set a baptismal date because she missed her first two already, but while she was cooking dinner for us last week she just stopped and said, "You know, it's the weirdest thing, but I keep on have a thought that if I get baptized, things will get better. I am ready to be baptized." She is willing to do whatever it takes now to be baptized and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Me and Sister Tanner are so excited for her because we know that being baptized and having the Holy Ghost will make her life better. She needs that constant guidance and comfort.

Last night was an Indian celebration called Daliwal. Not exactly sure what it's all about but there were lots of fireworks everywhere. When we pulled up to our house there was a family setting off fireworks right across the street from us. It was the most intense thing I've ever seen. They did not know how to use fireworks. They were carrying their children and jumping over the fireworks and launching fireworks out of their hands straight at our car. Then one firework tipped and shot right at a womans leg and almost set her on fire, but that didn't stop them. They finally gave up when another firework tipped and launched into their neighbors backyard. It was so entertaining haha. Also terrifying. It was a miracle that nothing set on fire. Proof to me that the day of miracles has not ceased.

I love you all!!

Sleep Tight

Hey yall!

Sorry I don't have tons of time left to email, but the past two weeks have been great! I got attacked by bed bugs and had to move apartments. Surrey is great, the trees are pretty now that it's fall. We have finally been able to meet a lot of the people that the last sisters had been teaching and they are amazing ❤ I love them so much!

We got to teach President and Sister Wahlen's grandkids this week! It was so awesome. We taught about the importance of the Book of Mormon. It helped me to focus this week on how much the Book of Mormon means to me. If you haven't been reading the Book of Mormon daily, DO IT! It will change your life and make you so much happier!

I love you all!

SO HAPPY

Hey y'all!

This week was AWESOME! The day after transfers President Wahlen called and gave me the best news I've ever heard.... Hossein and Leila have been approved for baptism!! I am so excited! Plus, he said he would let me ride with him and Sister Wahlen back up to North Shore for the baptism when it happens. I love them so much and I am so excited to be able to see them take this huge step in following Jesus Christ. I'm even more excited because I know that in one year they will be able to be sealed to their two kids forever! The gospel of Jesus Christ is the best thing in the entire world. It just makes me so happy and I'm so happy to be able to see other people find the joy that comes from it as well. We also have a baptism with our new friend Elena that we just met yesterday! She's so awesome and is so excited to be baptized

We had the nicest rejection of all time this week. We knocked on the door and this man answers and you can tell he's baking something because the house smells soooo good. We introduce ourselves as missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and he just tells us to wait a sec and then walks away. He comes back with two pastries on a plate, tells us to take them and that they are homemade and says "I am not Christian, I am happy with my faith, have a good night, goodbye." And closes the door. We didn't know how to feel hahah. The pastries were really good though!

Other than that this week was crazy haha. Surrey is a pretty fun area. We are still trying to get to know all the people we are teaching. A few of them won't talk to us because they're sad the last sisters left but we are working through the members that they are friends with. They just need some time, but I am excited to meet them.

I love you all!

For all the Psych fans: we went to where Psych is filmed! We saw the Psych office and the pier! It's in a little town called White Rock (hence the white rock) near Surrey.

The pastries the man gave us...
